Welcome to The Sensorium Process. We are so glad you could come. Please sit down, relax and take a Brandsulin. Focus on what you are, what you could be and what your personal brand could offer The Coalition. Close your eyes and imagine the future of your brand within the network. Will it be strong? Will it be rich with influence? Will you be gorgeous? Will it be algorithmic and full of life? Where do you see yourself in five years time? Set in 2020, The Sensorium Process explores the birth of a society whose values are based on hustle, struggle, brand reach, neo-libertarianism, advertising and influence. It's a society that has been designed by a clandestine innovations agency called The Black Operatives Department for its sole client: The Coalition.

The Sensorium Process is the second part of  Marcus John Henry Brown's critically acclaimed The Passing trilogy which looks at how technology, advertising and corporate culture are shaping the world around us.

 
 

FAQ

DOES THE SENSORIUM PROCESS FIT TO MY EVENT?

Marcus John Henry Brown has performed The Passing at internal business events, agency off-sites, International conferences and festivals. The Sensorium Process fit particularly well if your event focuses of HR processes, corporate life or the effects of technology on society as a whole. If you are looking to challenge your audience, challenge their thinking and how they see and contribute to the world: if you're looking for that extra something, then The Passing is a perfect fit for your event.

CAN WE SHORTEN THE SENSORIUM PROCESS?

No. The Sensorium Process is exactly 30 minutes long. It is a tightly scripted performance hack that was written specifically for conference and festival stages. It can't be adapted and it isn't possible to shorten it for shorter time slots.

WILL MARCUS PERFORM FOR FREE?

A famous rapper once said "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man" and although Marcus John Henry Brown may not be a rapper, he sees his art and his performances as a business. He also assumes that you will be looking at your event as a business too. If you do not have a budget for your event, if you are not prepared to pay the people you will be using to advertise your event - the people who will hopefully delight and inspire your paying audience then Marcus would kindly ask you from getting in touch.

WHO HAS THE SENSORIUM PROCESS BEEN CREATED FOR?

Marcus John Henry Brown sees the audiences for The Sensorium Process as being primarily business, technology or culturally interested audiences who want to experience something different. He doesn't want to change the minds of artists, gallery owners or museum curators. He wants to have an impact on the people who are having a real and very tangible effect on our everyday lives and he wants to challenge our own subservience to the products and services that these people are creating.

WHAT CAN THE AUDIENCE EXPECT?

The Sensorium Process is searingly dark and has been described as both the funniest and the darkest part of The Passing Trilogy. As with The Passing, The Sensorium Process audiences are led into the corporate machine of The Coalition. They witness the birth of the system that will later lead to Johnston and The Passing thirty years later. The performance introduces the character Tyler Xavier who will later become Tyler  X is the third part FLEX. Anyone who has ever been part of a corporate strategy kick-off meeting or offsite will feel right at home in The Sensorium Process.

WHAT IS A PERFORMANCE HACK?

A performance hack feels like a keynote, it looks like a keynote and it sounds like a keynote. The audience expects a keynote but gets something completely different. The performances mainly take place at business and technology conferences/festivals: places where I think my work should and needs to be seen. The content: the visuals, the framing, the sound, the text and the performance hacks the conference format and having a leads to a greater impact on the audience. These performance hacks confront, polarise and excite.
